Born in June 22, 1949, Meryl Streep, is also known as Mary Louise "Meryl" Streep. She was born in Summit, New Jersey, U.S. She is sister to two brothers, Dana and Harry. She grew up in Bernardsville, New Jersey and went to Bernards High School for her education. She, later on, went to Vassar College where she completed her B.A in Drama.
She also attended Yale School of Drama.
After completing her studies, she participated in many theater productions. She made appearances in many films. Some of the most prominent ones are The Seduction of Joe Tynan, The Taming of the Shrew, The Deer Hunter, King Kong, Manhattan, Still of the Night, A Cry in the Dark and Happy End.
For her powerful performances, she was rewarded many times. In her career, she got 16 Academy Award nominations and won two times, 25 Golden Globe nominations and won seven times. She was also bestowed with AFI Life Achievement Award in the year 2004.
For The Deer Hunter, she was nominated for Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
In the year 1978, she married Don Gummer. They together had four children. In 2008, she was given the distinction of New Jersey Hall of Fame.
