Born in September 25, 1944, Michael Douglas was earlier known by the name Michael Kirk Douglas. He was born to Kirk Douglas and Diana Dill. Both his parents were actors.
For his initial education, he went to The Choate Preparatory School in Wallingford, Connecticut. In the year 1968, he attended University of California, Santa Barbara. He came face to face with the actor inside him at The American Place Theater. Wynn Handman also studied with him.
He acted in a number of movie projects. Some of the most prominent were Cast a Giant Shadow, Adam at Six A.M., Napoleon and Samantha, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The China Syndrome, The War of the Roses and The American President.
For his work in Wall Street, he won Academy Award for Best Actor, David di Donatello for Best Actor, Golden Globe Award for Best Actor - Motion Picture Drama and Kansas City Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actor. For Wonder Boys, he won Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Actor, Satellite Award for Best Actor - Motion Picture Musical or Comedy and SEFCA Award for Best Actor.
He is married to Catherine Zeta-Jones and completed ten years of marriage in 2010.
