Biography
Viola was born on 11th August, 1965 in the South Caroline. She is the daughter of Dan, who is the instructor of a stallion, while her mother, Mae works in an industrial unit as well as in her house. Viola Davis has five siblings. Subsequently to her birth, her family relocated to Rhode Island.
Viola started her studies from Central Falls High School, and later in the year 1998, she did her graduation from a college in Rhode Island. She also put her name down in TRIO group. While playing a drama in her college, she also got a scholarship from Bernard Masterson.
In the year 1996, she started her acting career, by playing the big screen project, The Substance of Fire as well as a small screen project, NYPD Blue.
Following her first venture, she played the characters of Eva May, Sybil and Gordon in the movies, Antwone Fisher, Far from Heaven and Solaris, respectively, at the age of 37. She participated in a movie project, Doubt and played the role of Mrs. Miller, for which she got several awards, in the year 2008.
She also prevail some awards like, Indiana Film Critics Award, North Texas Film Critics Award, Women Film Critics Award and lots more, for her outstanding performance in the movie, The Help, which was released in 2011. Some other projects are: Learning to Fly, Knight and Day, Trust, Law Abiding Citizen and Madea Goes to Jail.
Beside these movies, she played number other characters in several small screen projects such as, Dottie in Amy & Isabelle, Terry in Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Hannah in Century City, Jan in Traveler and several others.
