Biography
Born on 1 June 1946, full name of Brian Cox is Brian Denis Cox. He took birth in Dundee, Scotland to a Roman Catholic family. He had four siblings and he was the youngest of them all. His father, Charles McArdle Campbell Cox, died when Brain was only eight years old. At the young age of fourteen, he started working with Dundee Repertory Theatre.
In London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, he studied and gained insights into the art of performance. In his long career, he acted in numerous films. Some of the most prominent ones are Nicholas and Alexandra, Inspector Morse: The Deadly Slumber, The Affair of the Necklace, The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep, The Good Heart and Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes.
He also lent his voice to many animations works. Some of the most distinguished are Manhunt and Fantastic Mr. Fox.
For L.I.E., he won Boston Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actor and Satellite Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama. In the year 2000, for Nuremberg, he won Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor – Miniseries or a Movie and Gemini Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Supporting Role in a Dramatic Program or Mini-Series.
