Born in November 28, 1950, full name of Ed Harris is Edward Allen "Ed" Harris. He took birth in Englewood, New Jersey, U.S. and made his career as an American actor, writer, and director. He grew up in Tenafly. His parents are Margaret and Robert L. Harris. He has two siblings; both of them are brothers to him. In the year 1969, he passed out from Tenafly High School. He was very good in sports and also went to Columbia University. Ed studied drama at University of Oklahoma. He also attended California Institute of the Arts.
In his illustrious career, he acted in a number of movies. Some of the most prominent are Appaloosa, Radio, The Rock, The Abyss, Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind, A History of Violence, The Last Innocent Man, Eye for an Eye and The Truman Show.
For his work in Apollo 13, he won Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role and Southeastern Film Critics Association Award for Best Supporting Actor. For The Truman Show, he won Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor – Motion Picture, National Board of Review Award for Best Supporting Actor and Southeastern Film Critics Association Award for Best Supporting Actor.
