Born in January 29, 1968, Edward Burns is also known by the name Edward Fitzgerald Burns. He took birth to Woodside, Queens, New York, United States to Edward J. Burns and Molly. He made his career as an American actor, film producer, writer and director. He had a Roman Catholic upbringing. He had two siblings. He grew up in Valley Stream, New York, on Long Island. He went to Chaminade High School and Hewlett High School. He also attended SUNY Oneonta and SUNY Albany. Later on, he went to Hunter College and studied English.
As an actor, he took part in a number of projects. Some of his most distinguished works are Saving Private Ryan, Life or Something Like It, and Confidence, Looking for Kitty, The Brothers McMullen, Life or Something Like It, 27 Dresses and One Missed Call.
As a director and writer, he worked in Nice Guy Johnny, The Groomsmen, Looking for Kitty, Sidewalks of New York, The Lynch Pin, No Looking back, She's the One and The Brothers McMullen.
He took his vows with model Christy Turlington. Togther, they have two children; Grace and Finn.
In 2007, his film, Purple Violets, was premiered on iTunes.
