Born in born June 22, 1936, Kris Kristofferson initially came to known with the name Kristoffer "Kris" Kristofferson. He took birth in Brownsville, Texas. As his father was serving in the military, he moved with his family to many places. He spent a considerable part of his life in San Mateo, California. He went to San Mateo High School for his graduation. He also went to Pomona College.
He, later on, joined army as his father wished and attained the rank of captain. After retiring from army, he tried his luck in music.
He got married to his girlfriend, Fran Beer and after having a son, divorced. After working in the field of music for a long time, he turned towards acting. He acted in a number of movies out of which The Gospel Road: A Story of Jesus, Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, The Land Before Time VI: The Secret of Saurus Rock, Molokai: The Story of Father Damien, A Star Is Born and A Soldier's Daughter Never Cries.
For his works, he was nominated for many awards. Out of those, he won Golden Globe Award for Best Actor - Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for A Star Is Born.
